Volunteering in your community can be a very challenging, yet rewarding experience. It offers you the chance to meet new people, learn a new skill, lead or teach others and enjoy the fun.

additional talent to fill these positions which help to support CHA and its
We are currently seeking energetic volunteers to fill positions that encompass duties before, during, and after the festival or for our year-round events.
You do not need to have Celtic heritage to apply!
IMPORTANT: WE ARE MOVING THE FESTIVAL TO MEMORIAL FIELD IN TOLEDO, OREGON THIS YEAR!
CHA has several types of volunteer positions.
- On call (OC): will show up to help at smaller events on demand or will donate time to outreach public events at schools, etc.
- Regular (R): will volunteer to work events during the timeframe they are held (usually quarterly).
- Team Leaders (TL): take an active and particpatory role in attending meetings, collaboring with others, planning, organizing, and taking the lead in your area of interest.
- Board Members (BD): attend annual meeting in Oct/Nov with the option to join in Team Leader meetings as well.
Our meetings are now open to the public! If you think you may want to join us as a volunteer, or just to see what we are up to behind the scenes, please feel free to join us.
Team Leaders (TL) meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:00 pm in Newport and we do have some volunteers who participate remotely as well.
Please check in with our volunteer coordinator in advance in the event our meeting date/time/location changes.

Regular Volunteer (R) meetings are scheduled in the months leading up to the annual Newport Celtic Festival & Highland Games. Check back in March 2015 for updates.
All Board members may eligible to attend our Team Leader meetings and Regular volunteers may be invited to attend based on need for input on event-specific needs.
Compliance Team Leader (TL)
Works with local and state agencies to obtain permits necessary permits and authorizations, prepares and negotiate contracts and agreements, interacts with OLCC and other regulatory agencies as needed.
Education & Outreach Team Leader (TL)
Seeks out opportunities to connect and facilitate education and outreach, develops materials, programs, and ideas, initiates opportunities (i.e. ceili dances, history presentations, suppers, events, schools, etc.).
Event Coordinatation Volunteers (R)
Plans and coordinates small concerts, dances, fundraisers, suppers, etc.
Fundraising & Sponsorship Team Leader (TL)
Seeks out fundraising opportunities, sponsorships and other partnerships which will help perpetuate sustainable funding for CHA in support of its mission.
Gift Bags/Raffle Volunteers (R) and (OC)
Solicit, collect, organize, and prepare gift baskets and raffle items for fundraising and prizes at CHA events.
Grant Writer Volunteers (OC)
Performs research for applicable grants and applies for funding to support CHA mission, goals, and needs.
Hospitality Coordinators (OC)
Arranges for transportation, rooms, check in stations, and greeters for events and works to develop a meaningful experience for VIPs, sponsors, volunteers, staff and other participants.
Highland Games Assistant (TL)
Supports HG Athletic Director in all areas of coordination.
Travel Team Volunteers (OC)
Attends other Celtic festivals offering information and selling merchandise - mileage reimbursed.
