FRIDAY FRINGE EVENTS - JUNE 12 

2:00 p.m. - KILTED KILOMETER & 5K FUN RUN! - As part of our Highland Games events, the "Running for Shelter" fun run is for runners of any age who wish to participate. Entrants bring or borrow kilts to run along the sand at Nye Beach during low tide. Entry fees are a donation of cash or pet food which will benefit the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. (FormsThis year we will have both a 1K and 5K beach run!

3:30 p.m. - SAND SCULPTURE CONTEST - Kids, teens, families and individuals compete for fun and prizes at our Sand Sculpture Contest at Nye Beach. This is a FREE event! (Forms)  We ask for a donation of healthy, easy to prepare food or a cash donation which will go to provide food to our local "Snack Pack" program for local school children who need it most.

7:00 p.m. - CONCERT BY THE SEA
- Come enjoy the Celtic connection with a special concert with opening acts "The Fire Inside" - "Cleghorn" and "BROTHER" as our returning headliner!

  * General Admission $10.00 - included free with 2-Day festival passes purchased online!  Gates open at 6:30pm.

9:00 p.m. - GATHERING OF THE CLANS / PIPING DOWN THE SUN - Don't miss this well attended FREE event at Nye Beach with music at sunset! Each year we have a great turnout with impromptu appearances by fiddlers, pipers, Irish dancers and others who simply enjoyed each others company.






  


SATURDAY & SUNDAY - SPROG'S CORNER

"SPROG'S CORNER" is where kids can come to interact and learn about Celtic culture and traditions.  These events will go on throughout the day on Saturday & Sunday at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.  These FREE activities include:

SPECTATE

1:00 p.m. - CELTIC HERITAGE PARADE
- Join us at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds to kick off this year's festivities with a presentation of the Colors and the National Anthem, followed by a colorful parade of pipers and pipe bands, Clans, families, dazzling performers, our lovely redheaded "Gingers," and of course, our Celtic dogs!  You can join in the parade if you have a Celtic canine or would like to join the rest of our "Gingers on Parade!" LIVE CELTIC MUSIC AND DANCING - Multiple stages come alive with Celtic performers bringing live entertaiment to a captivated audience.  Dance and sing along with your favorites!

HIGHLAND GAMES ATHLETICS - A highlight of the festival are the heavy events where athletes attempt great feats of strength to compete for status in the Highland Games circuit.

SHEEPDOG HERDING DEMOS!  - Dr. Ian Caldicott and his Border Collies of Wolston Farms in Scio, Oregon will offer sheep herding demonstrations in the Family Events Arena throughout Saturday & Sunday at the festival.   For a sneak preview, please visit our YouTube link.

HIGHLAND CATTLE - Heelan Coos (translation...
...Highland Cows) will return as a furry feature at the festival.  Steve Phillips of Seal Rock will be on hand with a couple of bonnie bovine to represent the
Northwest Highland Cattle Association.

CLANS & SOCIETIES - Learn about the histories of the Celtic clans and families and discover your own family history.  These non-profit organizations offer free information to anyone interested in taking the time to listen and learn.

YAQUINA FIBER ARTS GUILD - Members of our local fiber arts guild demonstrate how natural fibers are spun and woven. 

VENDORS -  A myriad of colorful vendors will offer their Celtic wares for sale.  Everything from clothing, to jewelry to musical instruments are availalbe to help you show your Celtic pride.

WELSH SKILLET TOSS
- Ladies, warm up your throwing arm! Our 2012 winner established a 67.0' skillet toss. Think you can beat it? (Forms)

BONNIE KNEES CONTEST - This fan favorite returns.  Gentlemen show off their palatable patellas for the audience who votes for the winner. Kilts must be worn.


CELTIC HERITAGE PARADE Enjoy the fanfare of our colorful Clans, families, bagpipe bands, Celtic canines and more. Led by the NW Scots Guard, you can join in the parade if you have a Celtic canine or would like to join the rest of our "Gingers on Parade!" (Forms)

This year's parade will be on Saturday, June 13, 2015 around the fairgrounds.
